Trojan, what is it? How it works, types and how to avoid

Trojan invades the computer in an apparently harmless way, but can wreak havoc on the computer. A trojan is a malicious program, which is infected on the computer as a legitimate program. Thus, this virtual threat enters the machine and has access to users’ data and passwords if they do not use prevention software programs.

How does the Trojan work?

Initially, it is necessary to define that the Trojan does not consist of a virus or worm. This is because the virus infects a file and can self-replicate. The worm is a type of malware that does not need to be associated with another program to spread throughout the computer.

With that in mind, it is possible to define the Trojan as delivering malware. That’s because, there are several types of Trojan horses (check more below). In addition, it simulates being a useful program, but hides infections that can reach the computer. The main way of spreading this threat is through downloads made on websites.
